Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AreWeGood (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website or use our macOS application and related services (the “Service”).

1) Information we collect

A) Information you provide

• Account information: such as your email address and login credentials
• Support communications: information you send when contacting support

B) Payments (LemonSqueezy)

Purchases are processed by LemonSqueezy (merchant of record). We do not receive your full payment card number. We may receive limited purchase/subscription metadata necessary to provide the Service (for example: subscription status, plan, timestamps, transaction identifiers).

C) Website analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and improve the website. Google Analytics may collect data via cookies or similar technologies, such as:

• Device and browser information
• Pages viewed and interactions
• Approximate location (derived from IP)
• Online identifiers (such as cookie identifiers)

We do not intentionally send personally identifying information (like your name or email) to Google Analytics.

D) Basic logs and security data

Our systems (and hosting providers) may automatically collect basic log data such as IP address, timestamps, and device/user-agent information for security, troubleshooting, and performance.

E) AI processing (Google Gemini)

If you use AI features, the text you choose to analyze may be processed by Google’s Gemini API to generate outputs.

Key points

• Your message content does not go to our own servers for storage as part of AI processing (beyond transient routing/transport needed to deliver your request).
• Google states that, for abuse monitoring, it may retain prompts, contextual information, and outputs for up to 55 days, and that data logged for abuse monitoring is used for policy enforcement and not for training or fine-tuning models.

2) How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide and operate the Service (accounts, authentication, subscription access)
• Manage subscription status and entitlements (via LemonSqueezy metadata)
• Provide AI outputs (via Google Gemini)
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, debug, and improve the Service
• Measure and improve website performance (via Google Analytics)

3) How we share information

We share information with:

• LemonSqueezy to process purchases/subscriptions and related compliance
• Google Analytics to measure website usage (subject to your cookie choices where applicable)
• Google Gemini to generate AI outputs from text you choose to analyze
• Service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting, support tools), under confidentiality/security obligations
• Authorities or others when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security

We do not sell your personal information.

4) Cookies and EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland consent

If you are located in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we show a cookie consent banner and do not load Google Analytics cookies unless you consent. If you decline, Google Analytics is not enabled for your visit.

5) Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to:

• Provide the Service
• Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations
• Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

Retention of AI prompts/outputs is governed by Google’s Gemini policies (see link above).

6) Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure.

7) Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing.

8) Children’s privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9) International users

If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws.

10) Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy and revise the effective date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
